About Odessa
Odessa is a beautiful and mythical city with a rich but also sometimes turbulent history.
First harbour of Ukraine, endless beaches along the Black Sea, green parks and streets everywhere and, not at last, her very open, selfconscious people.
The history of the city is connected with names as Catharine the Great, Babel, Pushkin and Boenin.
The city is wellknown of her liberal caracter and freedom despite the very dark pages written during the holocaust.
Tourists seems to start to discover the beauty of the city. That’s also why ‘Mamma Odessa’ functions as a magnet on wandering children from everywhere in the region and elsewhere, even from Moldova and Transdniestrie.
